The Democratic Society Congress (DTK) has called on all its affiliated to gather in Diyarbakýr tomorrow to discuss the process that will lead to the establishment of the Democratic Autonomy. The Democratic Autonomy model has been developed by Kurds as a response to the fact that they are not recognised any social status. DTK Spokesman Cemal Coskun remarked that the congress will draw up a plan and program for short, medium and long terms if the delegates decide to implement the Democratic Autonomy based on bilateral law.
During the meeting tomorrow, DTK will take significant decisions regarding issues like the current phase of implementation of the Democratic Autonomy, the ongoing imprisonment of elected deputies, the barring of Hatip Dicle from the Parliament, the government's failure in taking steps towards a solution and the increase of military and political operations against Kurds.
CALL TO 850 DELEGATES
Repeating its call for full participation in tomorrow's congress, the DTK has confirmed that 850 delegates will participate at tomorrow's meeting. Any conclusion will be made known to the public in a final declaration. Giving information about the congress which will witness significant developments in the Democratic Autonomy model, DTK Spokesman Cemal Coskun said; "Our delegation has established the fact that the Democratic Autonomy is an alternative approach and view of the central government and the law".
GROUND AVAILABLE FOR THE DEMOCRATIC AUTONOMY MODEL
Reminding of the former congress meeting where Kurds demanded Democratic Autonomy as a status so to sensitize the government towards democracy and find a solution to the Kurdish problem, Coskun noted that all the delegates have an agreement on the subject. Coskun said; "Considering the political, economical, ecological, cultural and artistic aspects, I believe that our country has a proper ground to develop the Democratic Autonomy".
Mentioning that the building process has been accelerated, Coskun added that short, medium and long term efforts and a bigger work are needed in order to implement the model in all its institutions and aspects.
