During the 17-years AKP ruling 1,754 miners lost their life

HDP Labor Desk Working Group Spokesman Hüseyin Taka said that 1,754 miners lost their lives during the AKP ruling.

HDP Labor Desk Working Group Spokesman Hüseyin Taka issued a written statement to mark World Miners Day.

The statement said: "During the AKP ruling at least 1,754 mine laborers lost their lives as a result of accidents at work" and listed accidents such as Soma, Ermenek, Kozlu, Sirvan.

"There is not a single boss who has been held responsible for all these murders. No one has been tried, there is not even a single work-related death where justice is provided", the statement said.

The statement continued: "The AKP government is trying to normalize what happened as a result of great negligence by calling these murders a problem of 'fate and nature'. These deaths are happening because of the neoliberal policies implemented in the country and capitalist production conditions based on the logic of 'less costs more profit, more work in less time'."

During the AKP's 17-year ruling, said the HDP executive, public mining was destroyed.
