After cancelling flight permit for Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu earlier today, Netherlands has blocked the land route for another minister of Turkey.
Earlier today, the government of the Netherlands cancelled flight permit for Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu who had announced his planned flight to Rotterdam today for a “meeting with citizens” ahead of the April's referendum despite continued opposition from the Dutch government.
Following the cancellation of Çavuşoğlu's flight, Turkish Minister of Family and Social Policies Fatma Betül Sayan Kaya announced that she would travel from Germany to Netherlands via land. Dutch police therewith blocked the road in front of the Turkish Consulate General in Rotterdam to not allow the passage of the Turkish minister.
Dutch police later intercepted Minister Kaya's vehicle and accompanying convoy at the border, denying access into the Netherlands and demanding their return.
