Eight people have been taken into custody early on Monday morning as a result of simultaneous house raids by police and gendarmerie units in the province of Bingöl.

The detainees, included BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) Bingöl Provincial Chair Halis Yurtsever and BDP member Ali Kýlýçgedik, were detained for allegedly “opposing the law on meetings and demonstrations” at different dates.

Detainees were taken to the Security Directorate of Bingöl.
