According to a press release by the HPG (People's Defence Forces) press center 8 soldiers have died as a result of an action carried out by the Kurdish guerrillas in Silopi (Þýrnak).

The statement said that the action was carried out in an area between the village of Gýtê and the border at Xabur at around 6.30 pm on the 11 of August.

On a separate development, the HPG release the Turkish army is continuing its operation in the area around Dersim. This operation have began on 8 August.
