Erdoğan's violent security guards in Berlin

The bodyguards of Erdogan, who were involved in a violent aggression on protesters in Washington last year, are now accompanying him during his state visit to Berlin.

Accompanied by protests, Turkish President Erdoğan arrived in Germany on Thursday for a three-day state visit. In addition to the police, armed bodyguards and Turkish secret service agents are patrolling on the streets of Berlin.

Some from Erdoğan's men took part in the anti-Kurdish attack on protesters during his visit in Washington DC in May 2017. One of the attackers to be arrested in the US was seen both during the arrival of Erdoğan at Tegel Airport and at Hotel Adlon, where he is staying. Last year, these men were banned from entering the G20 summit to accompany Erdogan. Due to the crisis between Berlin and Ankara, Erdoğan's personal protection was also forbidden to carry arms.
