Erdogan trusts economy to son in law, who hands it to US company

Turkish President Erdogan handed over the country’s economy to his son in law Berat Albayrak, who appealed to a US company to find a solution for the economy in a deep crisis.

Minister of the Treasury and Finance Berat Albayrak spoke about the “New Economic Program” he announced last week and argued that they will resolve the crisis with new concepts.

Albayrak didn’t mention the policies implemented by the Erdogan regime which are the fundamental cause of the crisis, but said they will be running the new program under main titles such as “balance, discipline and change”.

Albayrak said they started a new unit regarding change: “We have decided to work with international management company McKinsey for the Office of Costs and Change formed as part of the new program.”

Albayrak said, “This office with representatives from 16 ministries will control all our goals and outcomes every quarter.”

McKinsey is a global company that offers management consulting services to companies, public institutions and NGOs.

The company came first in the Vault Consulting 50 rankings in 2018. Forbes estimated their overall annual revenues at 7.8 billion USD in 2013. The company has been in the public eye several times for scandals and irregular accounts.
