ESP condemns the mass detention of politicians, journalists and artists

The Socialist Party of the Oppressed (ESP) reacted to the detention of over a hundred people in dozens of cities this morning.

The ESP Central Executive Board released a written statement concerning the police raids carried out in 21 cities. The statement said: "More than 150 people, including HDP executive members, journalists, lawyers and artists, have been detained this morning in a large-scale police operation carried out by the fascist AKP-MHP government in 21 cities as part of an Amed-based investigation."

The statement continued: “The fascist regime, which knows very well how "dangerous" the revolutionary-democratic forces are to them, wants to contest the May 14 elections by cracking down on the organized forces of the people, as it did before every election in the past.

We call on the working class and our oppressed peoples to increase the united struggle to frustrate the aggression of fascism and the policy of suppression against the struggle for equality and freedom.

Release the detainees!

You cannot defeat us, we will win!”
