The hunger strike resistance led by HDP Hakkari deputy Leyla Güven demanding the end of isolation imposed on Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan was joined in Den Haag by Kurdish activists Hüseyin Yıldız and Hasbi Çakıcı.

At the event organized in solidarity with the hunger strike resistance Dutch European deputy and European Parliament Turkey Rapporteur Kati Piri delivered a speech. 

“I salute all hunger strikers - said Piri - and in particular Leyla Güven. It would be a great injustice to ask you, who live some two thousand kilometres away to remain silent to the suffering. Nobody expects you to remain silent. It is a very sad situation that hunger strikes are coming to this stage, I hope that the demands of the hunger strikers are met and this action could end without any bad outcoming.”
