Baluchis

Baluchis are demanding greater autonomy and have been active for years.

Six soldiers were killed in a similar roadside bomb blast earlier this month. The incident was later claimed by the Balochistan Liberation Army, a Baloch separatist group.

Mineral-rich Balochistan is on the border with Afghanistan and Iran, and is the largest of Pakistan's four provinces, and home of roughly seven million people who have long complained they do not receive a fair share of its gas and mineral wealth.
