According to initial reports coming through, sixteen police officers have been wounded as a result of an explosion which occurred when a service bus carrying action force police teams in Sütlüce district of Istanbul was passing.

In a short statement to the press about the explosion, Istanbul security director Hüseyin Çapkýn remarked that the explosion was caused by a remote control bomb placed on a motorbike.

The explosion near the AKP building in Sütlüce caused damage in several vehicles in the area of the scene. Injured people were taken to Okmeydaný Training and Research Hospital, reported to be slightly wounded.
