Explosion kills three in Turkish Reyhanlı town bordering Syria

Turkish President said three Syrians were killed in the explosion.

Three people died as result of an explosion in a parked car in Reyhanlı district of Hatay bordering Syria.

The explosion hit the Mehmet Akif Ersoy Avenue at around 13:00 local time.

Reports say that the three people in the car burned to death after the explosion.

While police took security measures, fire crew extinguished the fire.

In a statement on the incident, Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan said that obviously a bomb was detonated in the car and killed three people, who he said were Syrians.

Erdoğan said those killed in the explosion have been identified and the inspection is ongoing. He added that the incident could be related to terror.
