The bodies of two out of six HPG (People’s Defense Forces) guerrillas dispersed after the clashes in the area between Lice, Kulp and Genç on April 24, were taken to Malatya Forensic Medicine Institute. There are no news about the remaining four guerrillas.
The HPG-BIM released a statement on recent clashes and gave the names of six guerrillas with whom contact has been lost. Families of guerrillas applied to Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) office in Diyarbakýr.
In a press statement following the meeting with DTK (Democratic Society Congress) and BDP members, families of HPG members announced that they will go to the clashes area on Wednesday to look for the bodies of four guerrillas.
Speaking at the press meeting, DTK Co-Chair Aysel Tuðluk said that; “We hope they are still alive. We will march to the area and look for them there until we get a result. The Kurdish people have the honor to protect their children who are not showed respect even in the case of death.”
Tuðluk pointed to Prime Minister Erdoðan as the responsible for the deaths and underlined that the Kurdish people will in no way submit themselves to the war the Prime Minister has waged against them.
The HPG statement published on ANF was confirmed by the statement by the Governorship of Bingöl which announced that six HPG members had lost their lives and that the bodies of two of them had been taken to Malatya.
The march to the clashes area which has started this morning from the BDP building in Diyarbakýr is joined by DTK Co-Chair Aysel Tuðluk, BDP deputies, BDP Diyarbakýr Co-Chair Zübeyde Zümrüt, mayors, representatives of non-governmental organizations, members of Peace Mothers Initiative and families of HPG guerrillas.
A group of activists from the DTK, BDP and several non-governmental organizations acted as human shields on April 27 against the military operations in the area between Lice, Kulp and Genç to give the message “End the military and political operation. Negotiate with the legitimate representatives of the Kurdish people that are Mr. Öcalan, Kandil and BDP.” As a result of the human shields action the military operation launched in the area ended and the soldiers withdrew from the area.
