Family buries remains of guerrilla son 22 months after he fell a martyr

The remains of HPG guerrilla Hikmet Eren, who fell as a martyr during a clash in the Derik district of Mardin in October 2019, were handed over to his family 22 months later.

Guerrilla Hikmet Eren's remains were handed over to his family on Tuesday, June 29, after the DNA result was released.

The remains of the guerrilla, who had been buried by the state in the cemetery of the nameless in the Artuklu district of Mardin, was taken from there and brought to the cemetery of the village of Üçevler (Gundik) in the Kızıltepe district.

Guerrilla Eren's funeral took place under gendarmerie blockade and only family members were allowed to attend.
