Father of Sakine Cansız: I am ready to go to Kobanê

The hunger strike which was initiated on the call of the Kurdish Society Centre of Germany (NAV-DEM) oN 30 September in Berlin in order to protest the attacks by ISIS gangs is in its 4th day. The protest, in Potsdamer Platz square is being visited by many people. While a lot of people not only from Berlin, but also from the northern and eastern regions of Germany are joining the hunger strike, the parents of the founder member of the PKK, Sakine Cansız, Ismail Cansiz and Zeynep Cansız, participated in the hunger strike and supported the protestors. The father of Sakine Cansız, Ismail Cansız, made a short speech addressing the protestors.

He stated: “dear Kurds, revolutionaries, patriots! I am also with you, with all my heart and power. I am 85, but I am ready to contribute whatever I can. If it is needed, I can go to the mountains to join the guerrillas. I am even ready to go to Kobanê to join the resistance. I am greeting the resistance of Kobanê warmly from here. I would like to emphasize that I am with all you people who are resisting here.”

Some people who are on hunger strike will maintain the vigil in Potsdamer Platz square until tomorrow. Then, a massive march will be organised under the leadership of the protestors starting from Potsdamer Platz square at 14:00.
