FED-MED, the Mesopotamia Free Society Federation, held its 4th congress on Sunday. FED-MED is the umbrella organization of Kurds living in Germany's North Rhine-Westphalia-NRW state. The congress started with a minute silence for the martyrs of the freedom struggle. The federation co-chairs delivered the opening speech at the congress. Attention was drawn to the Turkish state's invasion attacks against the Kurdish Freedom Movement in Zap, Metina and Avashin. The importance of the Kurdish people to take a stand against these invasion attacks in every area they exist was emphasized.
Following the evaluation of the political process, the Federation's one-year work, democratic confederal organization level, assemblies, communes, and the activities of all components were evaluated. It was stated that despite the corona epidemic process, a significant level of activity was carried out, but that a further step was needed.
The federation executive was renewed and concrete decisions were taken on the organization of the federation's work along 8 lines. The congress ended with the election of the federation co-chairs.
