Fifteen people were detained by police in the southern province of Mersin for distributing leaflets calling for participation in the mass rally to take place in the city on World Peace Day. The rally under the slogan "We salute Rojava resistance" is one of the four mass meetings the Peace and Democracy Party (BDP) organized to mark September 1.

Detainees are accused of opposing the law on meetings and demonstrations.
