Fifteen taken into custody in İzmir
Fifteen people have been taken into custody as a result of police raids in a number of houses in the western province of İzmir on Monday.
Detainees, who are accused of joining Gezi protests in solidarity with Taksim resistance in İzmir, have been taken to anti-terror branch of police headquarters.
Among those detained in today's operation are ESP (Socialist Party of the Oppressed) İzmir Branch Chair Pınar Türk, ESP members Süleyman Göksel, Sercan Üstündaş, Seda Baykan, three members of Socialist Youth's Association, Tekstil-Sen Union İzmir Branch Chairperson Seyithan Korkmaz and two activists of the Platform for the Unity of Struggles.
Thirteen other protestors in İzmir had been remanded in custody on Monday on the grounds of joining Gezi protests.
