Figen Yüksekdag: We will win by resisting

Figen Yüksekdağ, who was sentenced to 30 years in prison in the Kobanê Trial, said: "Until today, they have not been able to bring us to our knees. We will win by resisting."

HDP's former Co-Chair, Figen Yüksekdağ, who was sentenced to 30 years and 3 months in prison in the Kobanê Trial, made her first statement on the verdict.

The statement made on Figen Yüksekdağ's social media account said the following:

"We defended the honour, freedom and justice of our peoples, women and workers during the past 8 years we have been held hostage in the Kobanê Trial. It is an attack against the massacring, rapist ISIS army and those who hold its strings, its accomplices, against social conscience, solidarity, the ideal of the homeland and a democratic republic of great humanity. We will continue to resist in order to frustrate the liquidation operations against democratic politics and every move against the common life and future of our peoples. We cling to the consciousness, strength and confidence of our righteousness. We believe that our peoples will also cling to these and walk with determination on the path to freedom. Let no one's face fall, let no one's heart darken. Until today, they have not been able to bring us to our knees. We clung to the noble values of our path, which was nourished with heavy costs and hardships. We were subjected to judicial torture and persecution by those who did not have their share of these values. The heavy penalty verdicts cannot stop the peoples of Turkey from being partners in the possibility of living together. They will not succeed from now on either. We exist by resisting, we will win by resisting. Greetings and love."
