First attempt to close the BDP

In a letter to the Supreme Court of Appeals Prosecutor's Office, Istanbul Office of the Chief Public Prosecutor stated that an organic connection had been determined between the KCK (Confederation of Kurdish Communities) and the BDP (Peace and Democracy Party) within the framework of the information obtained under KCK operations.

Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor Office sent all the statements given by detainees, who were arrested within the operations carried out throughout Turkey within the KCK investigation, were sent to the Supreme Court of Appeals Prosecutor's Office on grounds of being associated with the BDP.

In the letter sent to the Supreme Court of Appeals Prosecutor's Office, Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor said that; “It was seen that the Peace and Democracy Party has an effective connection with the KCK-TM structure which held its meetings in various district and provincial buildings of the BDP under the supervision and control of the party.”

Within the framework of the document sent, it was reported that the Supreme Court of Appeals Prosecutor's Office could open a case against the BDP in the event of determining any “connection” after reviewing the Law on Political Parties.
