Another five people have been taken into custody this morning in Þýrnak. These arrests follow those of 51 people some days ago. Already in prison are the mayor of Þýrnak Ramazan Uysal, the mayor of Silopi Emin Toðurlu and the mayor of Idil Resul Sadak.

The arrests did not stop and this morning police are raiding houses in Þýrnak city centre since 3am. It is understood that among the detained are Þýrnak councillor Halit Çakan, representative of the banned DTP (Democratic Society Party) Yusuf Uður.
