Five people died and around ten people were injured as a result of an explosion in front of Security Directorate in Pýnarbaþý district of Kayseri on Friday morning, at around 09.30 local time.
The explosion is claimed to have been caused by a suicide action.
Including at least two police officers, five people are reported dead, while many others are said to have been injured by the explosion. Six among them are reported in a critical situation.
In a statement after the explosion, Interior Minister idris Naim Þahin confirmed that one police officer died and ten others were injured. Þahin stated that the explosion was organized by two suicide bombers who allegedly evaded a police checkpoint on the Kahramanmaraþ-Kayseri highway and tried to enter the police station building.
It is alleged that the bomb vehicle was exploded by three suicide bombers in it, following the police fire opened against the bombers who also lost their life in the explosion.
