Five people remanded in custody in Antep and Urfa

Four people were imprisoned in Antep and one other in Urfa.

The Turkish regime’s political genocide operations against the Kurdish people, their elected representatives and the opposition continue without interruption.

ANTEP

Fatma Lebe, Mehmet Zeki Demir, Tahir Altuğ, Mehmet Çiftçi, Erkan Şahin, Bedran Fermanoğlu, Faik Dursun, Ali Yıldız and Mehmet Şahin who were taken into custody in the most recent political genocide operations in Antep city, have been referred to court. Fatma Lebe, Mehmet Zeki Demir, Tahir Altuğ and Mehmet Çiftçi were remanded in custody and sent to the H Type Closed Prison.

URFA

HDP Urfa provincial branch administrator Hidayet Düğer had been sentenced to 7 years and 6 months in prison in the scope of a case opened against him for alleged “membership to a terrorist organisation” in 2016. Düğer was detained while leaving the HDP office after the Supreme Court upheld his sentence. He was then remanded in custody and sent to T Type Closed Prison.
