Four people detained in Taşlıçay

Turkish police detained 4 people in the raids it carried out in the morning in the town of Taşlıçay, province of Ağrı.

Four people were taken into custody this morning by police, after raids carried out on their houses. The people detained have been named as Ahmet Kaya, Ilhan Budak, Musa Tasdemir, Berhem Işık.

The four did not learned why they were being detained and were taken to Ağrı Provincial Police Department.

On 19 August the HDP mayors of the metropolitan municipalities of Amed, Van and Mardin were dismissed by the AKP government and replaced by State-appointed trustees.

Almost every day scores are taken into custody since then and on 19 August alone around 500 people were detained.
