Four siblings fighting in YBS ranks in Sinjar

Four Kurdish siblings, three boys and a girl, are fighting together in the ranks of the Sinjar Resistance Units (YBŞ) against ISIS gangs.

Payiz Xelef, Faruk Xelef, Xelil Xelef and Mervan Xelef from the Xanesor village of Sinjar say they are waging a freedom fight in the ranks of the YBŞ in order to liberate Sinjar from the ISIS occupation.

Payiz tells that they joined Sinjar Resistance Units together, and that they all are ready to fall a martyr for Sinjar's freedom, adding; “The PKK guerrillas were very helpful to us, we thank them very much. There are many Ezidi women who can also come here and join the fight just like what we have done. It is said that the Ezidi women cannot fight. No. They can do this in order to defend themselves. It is not true that only men can fight.”

Payiz, who disapproves the attitude of Ezidi youths that have left but not defended their lands, says; "Kurdish Ezidi youths have left Sinjar. ISIS would have not been able to enter the town if they had resisted. I call on them to turn back to their lands which we here will be defending to the end and can die for."

Faruk Xelef who has also joined the armed resistance in order to ensure Sinjar's liberation is fighting at a front together with his sister, while the other two are taking their place at another front in the region. "We, all four siblings, are here to struggle for Sinjar's freedom," Faruk says and also thanks the PKK for the help provided to them in this process.
