Kurdish students Hasan Doðan, Saffet Kaya, Emrah Demirtaþ and Þahin Atagün have been expelled from Selçuk University. The decision was taken by the rector of the university, Hakký Gökbelon, who justified his decision saying that the students are "members of illegal organizations" before the trial the students are facing came to an end.

The students were taken under custody on April 13, 2011 on claims of "being members of an illegal organisation" and were released by the court pending trial.
