Iranian soldiers were reported to carry out an operation in Sine city of Eastern Kurdistan and kill four members of a Wahhabi group.
According to Fars news agency, the town’s deputy governor Ýrec Hasanzade stated; “The last four members of a terrorist group died in a clash with security forces in Hassan Abad village near the Sine town”.
Hasanzade remarked that they received a notification from villagers that the four members of a Wahhabi group were hiding in the village.
The alleged leader of the group was killed by Iranian intelligence in Sine in November 2010.
Purporting to return to the essence Islam, Wahhabism is a sect mainly common in Saudi Arabia.
