The four women who were taken into custody on Monday in Dersim have been remanded in custody yesterday.
One of the four women is Alevi Academy (DAKAD) president Aysel Doðan, a very well known woman in Dersim and the region for her commitment and work on the rights of the Alevis.
The four women have been detained in the context of the so called KCK (Kurdish Communities Union) operation which since 2009 has brought to prison thousands of Kurdish politicians and activists.
As well as Aysel Doðan, Councillor Nuray Atmaca, BDP former co-chair Amber Kurtgözü Bakýray and BDP representative Nevin Balta have been remanded in custody.
The four women have been accused of "making propaganda for an illegal organization".
Doðan, following the 1999 call by PKK leader Abdullah Öcalan, returned to Turkey from Europe with a group of eight "Peace Messengers". Doðan spent 10 years in jail.
