The French state was protested in front of the French Embassy in Stockholm for shedding no light on the murder of Sakine, Fidan and Leyla murdered in Paris on January 9, 2013.
A demonstration was held in front of the French Embassy in Swedish capital Stockholm in protest at the French state for shedding no light on the murder of Sakine Cansız, Fidan Doğan and Leyla Şaylemez in capital city Paris on January 9, 2013 despite the 4 years having passed since.
Demonstrators gathered in front of the French Embassy in Stockholm at 11:00 this morning, carrying banners with photographs of Sakine, Fidan and Leyla on them, and a banner reading “We demand justice”. Protestors often chanted “Murderer Turkey, hypocritical France”.
Demonstrators submitted a letter undersigned by Amara Kurdish Women's Assembly and Stockholm Kurdish Society Center to the French Embassy, and left a black wreath with the photographs of three Kurdish women on it in front of the Embassy.
The letter given to the French Embassy stated that gunman Ömer Güney was not put on trial although around four years have passed since the murders, and that he died in a shady manner soon before the first hearing.
In the letter, it was stressed that the gunman was an agent of the Turkish intelligence service MİT and committed the murders with instruction from the Turkish state, and the French collaboration with the Turkish state in leaving the murders in the dark, was condemned.
It was also emphasised that the death of the suspect wouldn't mean an abatement of action, and that Kurdish Free Women's Movement would continue the struggle until justice is done and light is shed on the murders.
