With a rally in front of the Turkish consulate in Hanover, dozens of people protested this morning against the abduction of Abdullah Öcalan and his continued imprisonment. With slogans and in speeches the participants criticized in particular the isolation torture by the Turkish state and expressed their solidarity with the leader of the Kurdish freedom movement.
In addition, the activists denounced the backing of this policy, which is contrary to human rights, by the German state. The police criminalized the public display of Öcalan's images and flags of the Kurdish freedom movement on site and thus once again put themselves at the service of the Turkish regime.
The actions for Öcalan's freedom and for peace in Kurdistan will continue in the coming days. On Saturday, February 20, a demonstration will take place at 2 p.m. in Hanover.
