10 October has been declared Freedom for Öcalan Global Day of Action.

Ohiana Etxebarrieta, EH Bildu Basque Parliamentary and former chair of the Kurdistan Friendship Group in the Basque country said: "Isolation is incompatible with peace, stability and freedom.  We denounce Öcalan's situation and also the massive detentions of HDP politicians and opposition carried out by the Turkish government."

Christine Blower, member of the British Chamber of Lords, Labor Party and co-chair of the Freedom for Öcalan Campaign said: "We stand with those who call for freedom of Abdullah Öcalan because we know that until Öcalan is able to take his rightful place there would be no resolution to the Kurdish question."
