German internationalist in the Long March arrested by the police

The German police continue with provocations against the Long March for Öcalan. A German activist has been taken into custody today.

The German police provocations during the six-day march of the Kurdish youth movement that started on 8 February in Frankfurt continue. Under the slogan "Don't let the isolation, free yourself with Rêber Apo", the youth protests against the international conspiracy of 15 February 1999 that led to the abduction of Abdullah Öcalan to Turkey.

Already on the first day slogans and Kurdish symbols were banned by the police. On the second day, a police attack on the activists took place at the end of the march, three young people from France were arrested and only released during the night.

Today the young activists met at 9:30 a.m. at the Luisenplatz in Darmstadt to continue their action. There they were again confronted with a police provocation. A German participant was arrested, the escort vehicles with the technical equipment are being searched. At the moment the activists are waiting at the square.
