German newspaper runs Kurdish headline for Erdogan

One of Germany’s daily newspapers Neus Deutschland ran the headline “Ne bi xêr tê Erdogan” (“Erdogan is not welcome”) in Kurdish.

The Neues Deutschland newspaper ran its headline in Kurdish to draw attention to the Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan, who arrived in Berlin yesterday afternoon to hold official meetings starting today.

The newspaper ran the headline, “Ne bi xêr tê Erdoğan” (“Erdogan is not welcome”), and wrote that a large portion of the German public and the opposition doesn’t want Erdogan in Germany. The newspaper listed the Erdogan government’s recent crimes in Turkey and Kurdistan and criticized the Turkish president being greeted on the red carpet.

EVRENSEL REPORTER BANNED

Reporter Aziz Kocyigit appealed to Germany’s Federal Press Bureau to follow Erdogan’s visit for the newspaper Evrensel, but was rejected and referred to the Turkish Embassy. Kocyigit, a journalist who has had accreditation with the German Prime Ministry, objected to the decision and said he lives in Germany and is a German citizen, but failed to achieve any result.
