German police and racist mob attack young activists at Long March

German police and racists attacked the last day of the Long March carried out by young people demanding freedom for Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan.

The Long March started in Cologne and ended in Aachen on Thursday. The march demanded freedom for Kurdish people's leader Abdullah Öcalan and was promoted by Tevgera Ciwanên Şoreşger (TCŞ) and Jinên Têkoşer (TekoJIN).

On the last day of the Long March, Turkish fascists attacked first. One of the youths attacked by the fascists in an alley was injured. The injured activist was taken to the hospital after first aid was performed on the scene.

Police stood and watched

Reacting to the police's failure to stop the attackers, the crowd staged a road blockade and a sit-in in front of Elisen Galerie. The police eventually attacked the protesters on the grounds that the slogans chanted by activists (Bijî Serok Apo, or Long Live Leader Öcalan) were prohibited. The police detained a TCŞ activist.
