German police raid Kurdish association NAV-DEM in Hannover

German police conducted a raid on Kurdish association NAV-DEM in Hannover.

German police raided and are currently conducting a search in the Democratic Kurdish Society Center (NAV-DEM) in Hannover. In the morning, 7-8 police buses drove in front of the Kurdish center in the Königsworther Street and penetrated into the association. So far, nothing is known about the reasons. People from all over the region gather in front of the association to protest against the police action.

Co-Chairperson of NAV-Dem Tahir Koçer told ANF: "All our associations and institutions perform legal activities. Our association in Hannover serves our people in this sense. The police raid on our assocation early in the morning is absolutely unacceptable. That's pure arbitrariness. That's just discriminatory. Hanover police make trouble for Kurds in all their activities. Lastly, they tried to ban Newroz event. Since they were unsuccessful, they are now trying to pressure our facilities at all costs. We will not bow to that."

The board of the association calls for solidarity from all people by going to the site of the raid. The address is, Königsworther Str. 2, 30167 Hannover.
