Government should accept Peace Protocol, said Cemil Bayýk

KCK Executive Council Member Cemil Bayýk demanded the clarification of Erdogan's words "Nobody shall expect goodwill from us" and the acceptance of the protocols presented by Ocalan to the government.

Bayýk also spoke to ANF Kurdish service about the current phase in the Kurdish problem, Erdogan's statements and the declaration of democratic autonomy.

Asked about the function of the Peace Council, as defined by Ocalan during the meeting with his lawyers, Bayýk answered as follows: "Leader Apo and KCK are trying and making efforts to solve the Kurdish problem through peaceful ways, however the government and the AKP want to deceive the people. Neither the AKP nor the government wants to resolve the problem through peaceful ways because they have a war mentality and they are changing their strategies and holding meetings to find new methods to implement this war. We can maintain the self defense process only if Leader Apo's protocol is accepted by the government and negotiations are started soon. The nonacceptance of the protocol means government's insistence on war and in that case, we will protect ourselves and we will perform this act for out honor.

Among the protocols offered by Leader Apo, the government accepted the protocol of establishment of the peace council, as Leader Apo stated during his latest meeting but, including the establishment of Constitution Commission and security commission, there are also several other protocols offered by him.

PRACTICAL STEPS NEEDED

Concerning the protocol approved by the government, it is not known when it will be actualized or there aren't any concrete statements made by the government in this respect. This is the strategy of deceiving. The government intends to block the PKK and to put an end to it step by step. The other protocols should also be approved and the actualization time of these protocols should be stated clearly. The government doesn't take any practical steps because it doesn't want to give up its destruction policy".
