The Green Left Party has set up an election office in Karlsruhe as a contact point for information about the parliamentary and presidential elections on 14 May in Turkey. The premises are provided by the Die Linke. Karlsruhe on Schützenstrasse. Before the opening, a rally took place on Werderplatz.
The representatives of the German left party expressed their solidarity with the Green Left Party and declared that they support the fight for a change of government and peace in Turkey.
Kurdish politician Bedia Özgökçe Ertan, who lives in exile in Germany, pointed out in her speech the oppression of the Kurds and other identities by the Erdogan regime and said: “This fascist regime has been carrying out for twenty years racist genocidal attacks. The Kurdish communities have been usurped through the appointment of compulsory administrators and thousands of Kurdish politicians are in prison. The regime is attacking the Kurds everywhere to destroy their gains. These attacks continue. Hostility towards Kurds and Alevis became clear once again after the earthquake in February.”
Bedia Özgökçe Ertan called on voters in Europe to overthrow the Erdogan government and exercise their right to vote between 27 April and 9 May.
After the rally, the opening of the polling station took place. The ribbon at the entrance was cut by women.
