Turkish President Abdullah Gül is making inspections at border units in Yüksekova district of Hakkari today.

The visit, announced last week but later reported to have been cancelled, is said to be within the scope of 'fight against terror' for coming after Present Speaker of the Federal Kurdish Parliament, Kemal Kirkuki’s visit to Ankara on Thursday and coinciding a period of intense discussions about a cross border operation.

Gül, accompanied by the Chief of General Staff Necdet Özel, is expected to meet with military and local authorities as well as the governor and civil society organizations.

The visit's aim and its reason to be secret isn't known yet.
