Gürbüz: On 15 May we will wake up to a new day

HDP Adıyaman Provincial co-chair Bekir Gürbüz said the Green Party is working with the people to build a new country.

HDP Adıyaman (Semsûr) Provincial Co-chair Bekir Gürbüz told ANF that the province did not forget what happened during the earthquake and added that they will continue to underline the destruction caused by the government.

The Green Left Party continues its electoral work in the earthquake regions as well. Gürbüz spoke about the work the party is carrying out in the city.

Gürbüz underlined that the Green Party has built its own identity in the province and gets a good response from society. He said that the AKP government suspended democracy and continued the closure case against the HDP, which meant that it was mandatory for the party to enter the elections under the roof of the Green Left Party.

‘We work for our people’

Gürbüz underlined that Adıyaman is one of the cities hardly hit by the earthquake and continued: "The government itself punished Adıyaman by admitting that it did not intervene here in time. Despite this, we, as the political parties and the Labor and Democracy Alliance in Adıyaman, have stood by our people since the day after the earthquake. We healed its wounds. We were with our people, and society felt us closer. Today, we also talk about the destruction created by the government when we go out on the field to carry out election work."

‘We will wake up to a new day’

The people of Adıyaman share their longing for a country with democracy, human rights laws, where everyone can express themselves freely and live in safe houses and cities, said Gürbüz, adding: "On 15 May we will wake up to a new day. We will be ready to rebuild our country together with our people on that new day."
