Guven: Our demand is rightful and legitimate

Leyla Guven, on a hunger strike for the last 44 days demanding an end to the isolation imposed upon Öcalan, said: “I will continue my resistance. I am sure that I will achieve results, because the demand I and my friends have is rightful and legitimate."

Democratic Society Congress (DTK) Co-chair and Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) Hakkari MP Leyla Guven is on day 44 of her hunger strike which she started on November 8 in the Diyarbakir Type E Closed Prison with the demand that the aggravated isolation imposed upon Kurdish People’s Leader Abdullah Ocalan be lifted.

Guven’s daughter Sabiha Temizkan issued a statement on her Twitter account  and said she spoke with her mother: “I spoke with my mother #LeylaGuven on the 44th day of her hunger strike. She has lost a considerable amount of weight. Her voice and morale are alright. She said, ‘I will continue my resistance, I have 100% faith that I will achieve results, because the demand me and my friends have is very rightful and legitimate. We will certainly prevail.’ She sends her love.”
