Harassment and detentions in areas of Mardin under curfew

Turkish soldiers imposed curfew in many villages in the rural areas of Mardin, they detained six villagers on the pretext of clashes.

The curfew was declared on 17 December in the area between Çayköy (Şêb a jer) in Derik district of Mardin and Konur (Şêb) rural neighborhoods in Mazıdağı district.

The military actions prevent mobility in the region, and clashes with guerrillas have been reported. Six people have been detained in Çayköy.

It is reported that unknown people had targeted some houses in the village.

Sercan Dölek, Vedat Belgin, Halil Belgin, Nezir Demir, Aydın Özrak and Bedrettin Özge were taken into custody.
