The HBDH Hasret Gültekin Militia claimed in a written statement that they carried out "a sabotage action on a recycling facility in Gebze at around 5:30 am on 30 June 2022. The facility belongs to a member of the AKP. After the sabotage, the facility turned to ashes.”

The statement continued: “The Madımak Massacre, which took place on 2 July 1993, continues today with the AKP-MHP fascism. It is this state that has murdered many artists, intellectuals, Alevis and Kurds of this country. Coming to terms with them is to show that the massacres are not forgotten.”
