He said that the press in Turkey has been put under heavy pressure by the current government and hundreds of journalists have been arrested in recent years, and added that, as a party, they will defend the freedom of the press. "One of the most important problems in Turkey is freedom of the press. As a party, we are very sensitive about this issue. We will re-establish the freedom of the press after the current oppressive mentality is overthrown on 14 May."

Dilekçi stated that the isolation policies in Imrali and the other prisons have worsened and said that the solution to the Kurdish problem is possible by breaking isolation.

Green Left Party candidates drew attention to the police operations against journalists. Stating that the current government is trying to hide the truth from the public by suppressing the press, the candidates noted that the solution to press freedom and other problems would begin with the fall of the AKP on 14 May.
