HDP Election meetings in European cities continue

HDP is holding a series of meeting in Europe to secure vote of citizens abroad

A public meeting was held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, to talk about the 24 June parliamentary and presidential elections in Turkey.
After the one-minute silence to tribute Kurdistan and world’s revolutionary martyrs HDP Şırnak Deputy Faisal Sarıyıldız spoke.

Sarıyıldız begun remembering the May martyrs. “Today we are here to remember our martyrs and to talk about the election agenda in Turkey. - he said - We must not forget that we are today very close to crowning the struggle of our martyrs in this coming election. The resistance in Afrin, the resistance in Kobanê both hold a relation to the 24 June elections. You need to understand this well. - said the HDP deputy - The spirit of Afrin, the spirit of Kobanê was the spirit of the paradigm created by Leader Apo. If we keep this spirit we can get a victory out of these elections”.

Sarıyıldız added that the Kurds, the Alevis, the Syrians, the socialists, the revolutionaries and the proletarians are now united, bound by this spirit, and they are closer to victory than ever before.

Meeting in Rennes

A public meeting took also place in Rennes, France. Siirt HDP deputy Besime Konca attended the meeting organised by the DTM in Rennes. 

Hundreds of people attended the meeting. Konca said that the two-party alliance [AKP-MHP] will be defeated in this election, despite the attempt to get the HDP out of the way through repression and the election threshold. The threshold will be overcome and the two-party alliance will come to an end.

Konca added: “On 24 June we will make sure Erdogan and the MHP hear the will of the people. We will not give them the opportunity to exploit people any more”.

Meeting in Bensheim

A meeting was also organised in Bensheim, Germany, to pay tribute to the martyrs. Mele Muhittin Kurtay participated in the meeting which took place after the iftar meal (Ramadan has already begun).
Mele Kurtay read the biographies of the martyrs who lost their life in May and stressed the importance of the 24 June elections.

Mele Kurtay added that the elections have a special importance for Kurds. The struggle towards democracy is nearing the goal at a very fast pace. “If Kurds and all democratic and oppressed people in Turkey are able to use this historical opportunity properly, the results of the elections will change the fate of oppressed people”, Kurtay said.
