Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) Deputy Group Spokesperson Filiz Kerestecioğlu drew attention to the totalitarian regime in Turkey as the HDP launched its 'NO' campaign in İstanbul, İzmir and Amed simultaneously. Kerestecioğlu said “Nobody in Turkey deserves this. The first 'NO' to the totalitarian regime will come from this country. 'NO' will come out of this country so that others do not meddle with our work.”
Kerestecioğlu noted that the goal of the constitutional changes is to install the 'one-man' regime, and participants of the event said 'NO' when Kerestecioğlu asked “Is there a single word in this constitution on workers, Kurds, Turks, Êzidîs and the peoples of Turkey? Will journalists Ahmet Şık and İnankızılkaya, who try to give us the news, have a say? Will Mother Taybet have a say? How can a constitution be written without the voice of the children want a secular education? How can a constitution be written without the voice of women? What can we say to the constitution that prevents society from saying anything?”
Lastly, Kerestecioğlu said “One will eventually wake up from this deadly sleep. One will wake up with the scent of freedom and happiness, which we can already smell” and the song called 'Say NO' was promoted after her speech.
