In response to the rumours in social media networks regarding the situation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan, the Peoples’ Democratic Party (HDP) MP Hasan Özgüneş said, "The isolation must be lifted and meeting with Öcalan must be allowed."
A statement was made in the Cizre district of Şırnak province regarding the situation of Kurdish People's Leader Abdullah Öcalan who has been kept under aggravated isolation in Imrali.
HDP Şırnak MP Hasan Özgüneş, the party's district organization members and many people attended the press release.
Speaking here, HDP deputy Hasan Özgüneş said; “Thousands of people consider Mr. Öcalan as their will and leader. A provocation has been attempted through the rumours. Although the Bursa Chief Public Prosecutor's Office has denied the claims, a concern was sparked among the public. There has been an aggravated isolation on Mr. Öcalan and his fellow detainees for years. Lawyers are not allowed to meet him. The Kurdish people do not know anything about Mr. Öcalan's health and are worried. Therefore, it is necessary to allow contact with him as soon as possible. Most importantly, the isolation must be lifted and families must be allowed to meet with their relatives on Imrali."
