HDP Group Deputy Chairs İdris Baluken and Pervin Buldan have released a statement regarding the increasingly ongoing state terror of the AKP.
Remarking that Turkey was being dragged into a great spiral of violence by the hand of AKP that failed to achieve the result it had desired in June 7 election, the statement said AKP has kind of thrown the country in the fire in order to remain in power and also for fear of being brought to book for what it has done in the face of its failure since after the elections. HDP said AKP has in the meantime incrementally escalated violence against people and violation of their rights once it became clear that it will fail to achieve what it desires for November 1st elections as well.
'RIGHT TO LIFE AND FUNDAMENTAL RIGHTS VIOLATED'
The statement by HDP Group Deputy Chairs pointed out that a curfew has been imposed on many towns in the Kurdish region every day on the grounds of 'security of life and property', which however resulted in the violation of people's fundamental rights, the right to life in the first place.
"Despite all the bans and restriction efforts, what happened in Cizre throughout one week couldn't be hidden from Turkey's public opinion. Reports and images of the death of 23 civilians and the destruction of the town by the artillery fires of soldiers could be shared with all the public. The people of Cizre, journalists and our deputies played a major role in the access of the truth to the peoples of Turkey by remaining in the district and risking their lives in the face of the curfew and uninterrupted attacks."
Pointing out that AKP's biggest fear and nightmare was that people learn the truths and become aware of what is going on, the statement said this was the reason why it did whatever it could, regardless of their non-compliance to national and international laws, in order to hinder the exposure of the truth.
The statement said police and gendarmerie that acted like AKP's security forces, also targeted the HDP deputies that inspect and report the human rights violations and unlawful practices committed in the Kurdish region.
Describing the denial of access for HDP delegation to Cizre as a total scandal, the statement said; "It is very clear that the state is committing great crimes in Cizre under the cover of a curfew. The scene seen after the lifting of the curfew openly reveals what the state tries to hide."
'POLICE ATTACKING OUR DEPUTIES'
The statement by İdris Baluken and Pervin Buldan pointed out that AKP's police forces also attacked the elected deputies of the HDP, including Diyarbakır deputy Çağlar Demirel who was targeted during yesterday's crackdown on people in Amed's Sur district, and Antalya deputy Saruhan Oruç who was deliberately assaulted in the police attack on those joining a press briefing by the Peace Bloc at Galatasaray Square yesterday.
Condemning the restrictions and attacks, Buldan and Baluken demanded the suspension and punishment of those responsible, and called on the President of the Parliament to adopt a clear stance against the restrictions and attacks suffered by members of the parliament.
'OUR MARCH WILL GO ON'
Remarking that attacks on deputies aimed to intimidate the people and to silence the voice for peace and fraternity, HDP Group Deputy Chairs underlined that; “Despite all the attacks, it must be known very well that our party HDP will continue raising the voice for peace and fraternity stronger. No repression will ever be able to restrain us from our path and the HDP's march for peace, freedom and fraternity will go on with the same determination.”
