HDP objects to election results in Akdeniz, Dargecit and Bitlis

HDP filed objections to the election results in the Akdeniz and Dargecit districts and the Bitlis province.

Peoples' Democratic Party (HDP) filed objections to the election results in the Akdeniz and Dargecit districts and the Bitlis province.

MERSIN

According to the unofficial results in the Akdeniz district of the Mersin province, HDP won 43.974 votes and the AKP won 47.789 votes. A total of 147.314 people voted in the elections and there were 7.945 inadmissible votes. HDP appealed to the District Board of Elections to object to the inadmissible ballots.

HDP Mersin Province Co-chair Mustafa Isik said they will defend their rights to the end.

The Co-mayorial candidate for Akdeniz Resat Asan stated that they faced threats from the Mersin Governorate and the Akdeniz District Governorate up to the day of the election. Asan added that the objection will be resolved within the day.

MARDIN

HDP appealed to the District Board of Elections for a recount in the Dargecit district where AKP won by 664 votes according to the unofficial results. In their appeal, the HDP Dargecit district chapter said the ballot minutes no. 1009, 1032, 1050, 1060, 1061, 1064, 1072 and 1074 were prepared without signatures from the ballot officials and there are some minutes that lack the official stamp.

The HDP district chapter said: “Our party was in the lead according to the early results, but later the data flow was interrupted. The system party started to celebrate, and there were power outages. After the power turned back on, the result changed against us. As the time for official opening of the ballots drew near, news networks started to run stories claiming there were clashes in Dargecit, and our ballot officials and witnesses were removed from the vicinity of the ballot boxes. The ballot minutes our ballot officials took were confiscated by force by the police.”

MUS

Mus Provincial Election Board convened to assess the HDP’s appeal for a recount due to 2.500 mostly HDP votes being deemed inadmissible. AKP-MHP won 15.919 votes in Mus, while HDP won 15.381 and HDP appealed to the results of 103 ballots in total, as well as the inadmissible votes. The Provincial Board of Elections is expected to issue a decision later in the day.

BITLIS

HDP appealed to the Provincial Board of Elections due to discrepancies in state officials (policemen, etc.) voting with a special permit (“Document 142”) and the 1.594 votes that were deemed inadmissible in the province of Bitlis.
