Turkish police raided the HDP (Peoples’ Democratic Party) office in Germencik district of Aydın province in the early morning hours today.

Police entered the office with the help of a locksmith and seized all the electronic devices and some materials inside. HDP district co-chair Tekin Erikli and party executive Ali Şimşeker who rushed to the office were taken into custody.

While Şimşeker was released after giving his statement at the police department, Erikli remains in custody.
