HDP provides solidarity aid to 140 families in Ankara

HDP Ankara Provincial co-chair Vezir Coşkun Parlak said that in Ankara, 300 families were provided with basic food aid and 140 families were brought together by the 'Twin Family Campaign'.

HDP Ankara Provincial Co-chair Vezir Coşkun Parlak said that they will continue their solidarity work despite the government seeing solidarity created by the society as a danger to itself.

Parlak added that in fact the campaign "Stay at Home" meant people were left alone and that the measures implemented by the government are not enough to respond to people's need.

Noting that they have been trying to overcome problems with solidarity for years, Parlak said there are numerous examples of social solidarity from the past. "Solidarity is our social heritage. What makes us faithful and hopeful today is that social heritage can respond to our needs during this emergency."

The HDP is trying to reach people whose living conditions are getting harder during the epidemic with the solidarity campaign it has launched. "Up to now, 140 families have been brought together. Families continue their support among themselves according to their needs. Basic food needs were given to 300 families. Masks and disinfectants were distributed to many families. We also try to respond to the demands of families. So far 550 families have applied to us."
